Library Learnin': What Kind of Bunnies?

I learned something very important today while working my shift at the local elementary school library.

If first graders come in and ask you, "Where are the bunny books?"

The next question out of your mouth should be, "What kind of bunny books?"

This is why:

In the children's section of any library you will find ...

 Dumb Bunnies

Dav Pilkey's humorous stories about the Dumb Bunny family.
A huge hit for kids who love to say the word "dumb."

 Knuffle Bunny

The awesome Mo Willems's tale of a sweet stuffie gone missing.
Another small fry fav.
In the case that you don't know Mo Willems, you should definitely check out his "Don't Let the Pigeon" series.

Mo is pretty much the bomb.

For the older crowd there's the Stone Rabbit books.

My kids' fav in that series is certainly "Night of the Living Dust Bunnies."

And then - just in case you forget about them - there are the real bunnies.

Those are located in the mammal section of nonfiction, specifically: 636.9.

So that's how you field a question for bunnies.

Don't even get me started on naked mole rats.

So glad to be back in the library after a long Christmas break.
Have a great Monday!
